Format for the "Pay it Forward" project in the schools

Business ONE:
Introduction: Explain to the class why all these business ladies are here to visit you to day and.
what NetWeaving is about and how it ties into Paying it Forward.
Talk about the book written by Christine and movie that was made from the book. Tell how Trevor made a difference in his world by creating a “Pay it Forward” idea.
Teacher will organize ahead of time two baskets of names, one basket of children who are the very outgoing type. One basket of those children who are a little more
reserved and tend to be a shy or quite.
Teacher will pick a name out of one of the two baskets and that student #1 will then come up and pick a name out of the other basket.
Student #2 then picks a name out of either of the two baskets. That student #3 then picks out which “Bear on the Go” they would like for their team.
Depend on the number of students in the class we will have 3 to 6 students in a team.
Business ONE will then introduce Business TWO

Business TWO:
PROTOCOL
Will then explain how NetWeaving will work in your school and your neighborhood etc. And then teach them an important skill that they will need as they
grow older and enter into the working world. That is one of Protocol and a demo will be done using a couple of the other ladies to show how to introduce
your friend to a new friend. How to shake hands, make eye contact etc. Then all the teams will put this into practice as they are being coached. Student #1
will introduce student #2 to student #3. Then they can reverse until they all have practised an introduction.
Business Two then introduces Business three.

Business THREE:
BRACELET
She will then show the class the  “Pay it Forward” bracelet and explain how it will work in the school when you see someone doing a kindness to another
or doing something GREEN you will commend them and take your bracelet off and ask them to “Pay it Forward” and give the bracelet to someone they
see doing a kindness or going GREEN. She will tell about the chart and how you will use it to track the bracelets each day. The Pay it Forward of the
bracelets will remain at school and will continue the next day.
Exercise>Ideas will be written on the board as the students suggest some things they might see that are “Paying it Forward” or “Going GREEN.”
Business THREE then introduces business FOUR

Business FOUR
BEAR
Introduce the class to bear and how bear plays a role in the “Pay it Forward” project.
Each student in the team will get a chance to take bear home for a weekend along with a journal. While they have bear home for the week-end they will write or draw pictures in the journal of what bear saw in the way of  “Paying it Forward” or “Going Green” at your home, or while shopping, at church, while visiting, or at an event. She will then encourage each team to choose a name for their team bear and write the name they choose along with their own names in the front of the journal.
Business four will the introduce business FIVE

Business FIVE
CHART AND WRAP UP
Will show the chart that will be in the class and how to use it. She will let the students know how long the project will run and when we will be back to collect bears and bracelets.  At that time we would like to get the feed back from everyone on how you enjoyed the “Pay it Forwad” project in your school so we can share how you felt when we go to the next school.
Business FIVE will thank Business SIX for taking the pictures.

Other businesses that might be involved are:
SEVEN: Videography
EIGHT: Someone to do a Scrap book for the school
NINE: Someone who would send a Thank you card to all the students
TEN: Someone who can send info to the media with a list of the names and business of those who took the time to be part of the “Pay it Forward” project.
ELEVEN: Sponsor of bears and Tee Shirts for bear
TWELVE: Sponsor of albums

In 2009 we will have Rogers TV as a sponsor so we look forward to doing promotion on this project and to encourage others to duplicate this project into the schools in their area.

This project will also be shared with the “Pay it forward Foundation" to be added to the stories on their web site.
